  • Clinical Assistant (Diploma)
    Graduates of this program will be able to demonstrate safe practice in the performance of clinical procedures required by physicians, including CPR and First Aid. Also, graduates will be taught skills needed to accurately perform medical laboratory tests and procedures, including electrocardiograms.

    The purpose of the Health Unit Coordinator program is to prepare the graduate to perform the clerical, reception/communication, and coordination tasks for the nursing unit. A graduate of this program is prepared to coordinate the non-clinical activities, transcribe physician's orders, schedule diagnostic tests, and manage the patient's charts.

    The program prepares the student to become a medical coder, and then go beyond that to become skilled in reviewing rejected medical claims and prepare them for resubmission.

    Through this program, graduates are prepared to perform x-ray (radiographic) examinations used in patient diagnosis.

    The administrative procedures included telephone handling, appointment making, billing and collections, insurance, medical records maintenance, and communication with all patients and visitors.

  • Medical Administrative Management (Associate's Degree)
    The purpose of the Medical Administrative Management program is to prepare graduates to be multi-skilled practitioners who perform administrative, clinical, and management duties. They may also perform diagnostic tests and assist the physician in both routine and emergency situations.

    The purpose of the Medical Assistant program is to prepare the student with the confidence and skills necessary to perform clinically in a physician's office, handle administrative duties, assist in patient care, and perform appropriate medical procedures.

  • Medical Clinical Specialties (Associate's Degree)
    The purpose of the Medical Clinical Specialties program is to prepare the student to perform to obtain quality laboratory specimens, perform x-rays, handle the administrative duties, assist in patient care, and examinations. Graduates of this program will be prepared to perform the roles of the medical assistant, phlebotomist, and limited medical radiographer.

    The Medical Coding Specialist program prepares the student to analyze medical records and abstract data for the purpose of billing and insurance reimbursement.

    The purpose of the Medical Transcriptionist program is to prepare the student to accurately transcribe a variety of medical records (physician's exam records, surgical reports, diagnostic reports, treatment records, and etc.) for a variety of healthcare facilities.

    The Associate Degree in Nursing builds on the technical background of licensed practical nursing. This program offers Licensed Practical Nurses the training to enable them to sit for the licensing exam to become Registered Nurses.

    The purpose of this program is to prepare graduates with the skills necessary to obtain quality laboratory specimens in a variety of medical settings. Graduates will gain the technical knowledge and skills required to take the ASCP registry examination for certification as a PBT (ASCP).
